The Foundation is based in Kampala and Masaka districts of Uganda and was founded 25 years ago to look after
orphaned and destitute children. It is a Christian organisation registered as a Ugandan NGO (the equivalent of UK
charitable status) and today runs a group of schools and a clinic, providing education, food, shelter and healthcare
for nearly 3,000 pupils at the following schools -

New Kabale Busega School
Kibuye High School
Wheeling Primary School
Peter K Gad Primary School
Kamuzinda Primary School
Kamuzinda High School
Kamuzinda Farm School.

From UK supporters we collect one-off and regular contributions, to cover bursaries for pupils, for teachers’ salaries,
for food, medicines and other expenses. We transmit the money direct to Uganda , where it is applied by the schools
in accordance with an agreed business plan. The Pearl of Africa Children's Choir Ltd is run by a small group of
volunteers who do not seek reimbursement of the admin expenses. Hence, we can assure supporters that the full
amount of donations raised in the UK reaches Uganda to fund the work there.

We also help organise the annual UK fund-raising tour of the Pearl of Africa Children's Choir which has been
established for over 20 years. The Choir, of some 20 children (aged 7 to 20 years) drawn from all the Molly & Paul
schools, offers workshops introducing British children to Ugandan music, dance, handicrafts and culture, and gives
public performances. Both the workshops and performances are widely acclaimed, and many television and radio
appearances have resulted.

Through The Pearl of Africa Children's Choir Ltd. you can be certain that the money you give will reach the
Foundation in Uganda to meet the needs of the children. This means that, with the benefit of tax relief through the Gift
Aid scheme, every £15 you donate is worth nearly £20 when it reaches Uganda.

Who we are
The Pearl of Africa Children's Choir Ltd. is a UK charity whose main purposes are to further
education and the relief of poverty in Uganda, especially by supporting the Molly and Paul
Childcare Foundation in Uganda. The Foundation manages to raise about 1/3
of its required revenue locally in Uganda, but for the remaining two-thirds relies on the
generosity of its UK supporters.
